ThinkBright
& Well began as ThinkBright Lifelong Learning. ThinkBright
Lifelong Learning included a television channel and
an online service that supported and enhanced the educational
experiences of teachers, students, families, and adult
learners throughout New York State.
Started in
July of 2002 with a $2.5 million grant from The John
R. Oishei Foundation, WNED began to harness digital
technology to create a lifelong learning educational
service. On Oct. 1, 2007, the service expanded to include
all of upstate New York . New York State viewers could
tune into a whole new selection of public broadcasting
programs, including educational series, arts and cultural
specials, public affairs forums and high-quality children's
shows through ThinkBright.
 |
Then, in October 2010, ThinkBright became ThinkBright & Well. It was to be the same wonderful educational resource with a strong focus on health and wellness. With the change in programming came our community initiative LiveWell. |
| |
| Now, fall of 2011 brings another programming change. ThinkBright & Well TV will get a feed of high-quality public television programming from WORLD TV. It consists of mostly current and public affairs programs but does include PBS favorites such as NATURE and NOVA. |
 |
ThinkBright & Well as a service will continue to offer online resources, educational professional development in the form of PBS TeacherLine, and WNED run parent & community workshops. |
